Outside of the Abbey grounds there are a number of walks to enjoy. Below the Abbey are the Belmont Meadows with a pleasant walk through the fields on public footpaths to Clehonger and its 12th Century Church which contains the tomb of Sir Richard de Pembrugge (Pembridge) who was one of the first knights of the Order of the Garter, founded by Edward III.

A longer walk through the rolling countryside takes you to Eaton Bishop with its prized mediaeval stained glass, one of the oldest complete examples in the country, or Madley with its pilgrimage church and hostelry..

Across the meadows is Belmont Golf Course with its magnificent views over the the Wye.
